Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 6, 2026
Overview
My People ("we", "us", or "our") is a personal contacts app that helps you remember the people who matter. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information — email address and authentication credentials when you create an account.
- Contact data you provide — names, phone numbers, emails, birthdays, notes, tags, relationship labels, interaction history, and other fields you choose to store about your contacts.
- Imported data — if you import contacts from Google, your device, or vCard files, we store the information you choose to import.
- Usage data — basic technical logs such as IP address, browser or app version, and error reports needed to operate and secure the service.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve My People.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Sync and display the contact data you store.
- Send optional product emails such as daily briefings, if you enable them.
- Respond to support requests and fix bugs.
We do not sell your personal information or contact data.
AI and MCP integrations
If you connect an AI assistant through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar integrations, that assistant can access only the contact data available to your signed-in account. You control which tools and clients you authorize. We do not use your contact data to train third-party AI models.
Google user data
When you choose to connect Google Contacts, My People accesses your Google contact data through the Google People API using the contacts.readonly scope. Sync is one-way: we import and refresh contacts in My People but do not create, update, or delete contacts in your Google account.
What we access: Contact names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, organizations, birthdays, biographies/notes, and sync metadata needed to import and refresh contacts in your My People account.
How we use it: Solely to provide import and refresh inside My People (notes, reminders, circles, and optional in-app assistant or MCP tools you authorize). We do not use Google contact data for advertising or to train third-party AI models.
Who we share, transfer, or disclose Google user data with:
- Infrastructure providers that host My People on our behalf (e.g. Supabase for authentication and database storage), only as needed to operate the service under our instructions.
- Email delivery providers only if you enable optional product emails; Google contact content is not included unless you store it in My People and a feature you enabled displays it.
- AI assistants you connect (e.g. via MCP), only when you deliberately authorize such a client; access is limited to data available to your signed-in account.
We do not sell Google user data or share it with data brokers, advertisers, or unrelated third parties. You can disconnect Google Contacts in Import settings and delete your account to remove stored data from our systems (subject to limited backup retention described above).
Google API Services — Limited Use
My People's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Raw or derived Google user data received through Google APIs is used only to provide or improve user-facing features of My People, is not transferred to others except as described in this Privacy Policy (e.g. infrastructure providers acting on our behalf, or AI tools you explicitly connect), and is not used to train generalized AI/ML models.
Third-party services
We rely on trusted providers to run the service, including:
- Supabase for authentication and database hosting.
- Google, when you choose to connect Google Contacts import.
- Email delivery providers for optional briefings and account emails.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies. We share only what is necessary to provide the feature you use.
Data retention and deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can export your contacts at any time from the app. You may delete your account and associated data through settings or by contacting us. Some information may remain in backups for a limited period before being purged.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards such as encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children
My People is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
